How is electricity generated?
A. Coal (gas, oil, or waste material) heats water to produce steam
B. The steam turns a turbine
C. The turbine turns the generator which makes electricity
D. Electric pylons carry the electricity to our homes and schools
E. Steam cools in a condenser and turns back into water to be re-heated in the boiler
About 30% of the UK's electricity is generated using coal and roughly 1% using oil.
